The Playsuit

Welcome back everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your summer holidays in the best possible way: going to the beach, hanging out with all your friends, partying, catching up with the TV shows you couldn't keep up with during the school year and also just doing nothing, enjoying the freedom!

I'm now back from my 3 week stay in the beautiful city of Chicago!! This trip could not have been more amazing! The city had the perfect combination between an urban up-beat lifestyle, but also a more relaxed one because only 2 minutes away from the busy Michigan Ave. (kind of like the 5th Ave. of Chicago) you had lake side beaches and calmer neighbourhoods.

All in all, it was for sure one of the best holidays of my life. Having family there also made it that much more enjoyable and fun! I hope you all liked this easy, laid-back look with a little Givenchy treasure stolen from the Mother's wardrobe :)

Chicago Streets

Hello hello from beautiful Chicago! As promised here is my first outfit post while I'm here. My days have been spent in the best way possible; exploring a new amazing city, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants... basically some essential ingredients to a great summer holiday!
I couldn't be happier with my stay here, its just too bad that time flies by so quickly, the trick really is to just make the most of it.

I hope you liked the first look and do leave me your suggestions below of places I definitely have to visit!

Festival Attire

NOS ALIVE 2014! As you're reading this post, I'm already in the beautiful city of Chicago!! I'm so thrilled to be here but I wanted to quickly share with you one of the looks I wore to 'Nos Alive'- an amazing musical festival that took place for three consecutive days in Lisbon. Check out their website HERE to see how great the lineup was!

For festival occasions its always important to be comfortable and wear appropriate footwear so you're free to jump, run around and enjoy every moment possible! This day I chose my new Adidas trainers from HOODBOYZ store because I love the casual and sporty style that they add to this outfit.

Keep checking in for some Chicago looks, I can't wait to explore this city!

Palais Royal

PALAIS ROYAL.  A place I've always wanted to shoot in! Unfortunately there was construction working happening around but that didn't stop us from snapping some pictures. You may now be wondering what this little blue statue is... By chance the artist who made these was there with his photographer to shoot a his brand new campaign. We got to talking and he showed interest in having me pose with his pieces to use as part of his new campaign! The result was an improvised photoshoot right in the heart of Paris! It was so much fun, specially because it was so unexpected!

Following on in the list of surprises, here is my first look with one of my new big purchases; the Givenchy Antigona bag!! As you must know by now bags and sunglasses are my favorite accessories, I'm absolutely crazy about them. This one came because of a special reason, my 18th birthday present. My birthday was all the way back in April but as I knew I was going to Paris in June I told my parents I would rather wait and get something I really wanted while I was there.

Lastly, I had to share the news that I'm off to Chicago tomorrow morning... as you may be able to guess, excitement levels are high! I'll be staying there for 3 weeks so expect many posts and pictures coming your way. Remember to always keep updated through my instagram @luizagrinberg where I'll be posting my daily adventures.

Pont des Arts

PONT DES ARTS. Beautiful and romantic as ever! As I was traveling with my best friend, we just had to give in and put our names on a lock and dramatically throw away the key into the river Seine (very movie-like I have to admit!) For sure a moment to treasure forever!

Keep updated for the last Paris look that is still to come with a special surprise in it!

From Paris With Love

JARDIN DES TUILERIES. What a beautiful, magical place. If I lived in Paris this one definitely be one of the places I would be spending a great portion of my time in. Its amazing how in Paris everywhere you look is almost like a living painting... beauty everywhere!
Hope you liked these pictures, they're some of my favorites!

Stripes 'n' Colors

PARISIAN AFTERNOONS. This one in particular was spent walking around until we stumbled upon Rue Crémieux. This little street is famous for its vibrant colored houses, which ended up being the perfect place for shooting some fun pictures.

I've had this dress for about 6 months now. Ever since I saw it on ASOS, back in january I just knew I had to have it. The prospect of a light summery dress seemed like the perfect idea on a gloomy winter's day. Moral of the story is that I've kept it to use on a special occasion and what could be more special than Paris??

Hope you like it and leave me your thoughts below!

Bonjour Paris!

PARIS 2014! What a trip! I'm absolutely in LOVE with this amazing city. Everywhere I look I'm surrounded by beauty. Every corner of every street has just something magical about it. It often happens that when we travel to some places we become instantly connected to them. For me that has always been the case with New York, but in this trip I realized that Paris also holds a very special place in my heart. The last time I was here I was only 7 years old, meaning I could only remember very little. Being back here at this age made it all the more special; first because I went with my best friend and secondly because I'm now able to appreciate and take in all the wonders this city has to offer. Another aspect of this trip which was very important to me was the fact that I can now speak the language! I've been learning french for about 6 years now, but in the past 2 years I've been taking classes at a higher level of difficulty just about everyday in school.  It felt truly rewarding to see the results being put in practice and to know that french is almost like a third language to me.

I hope you like these pictures and stay tuned for more posts to come :)

Heading to Paris

New outfit post woop woop!
After a long wait, they're back! In this outfit I had the chance to style these new Valentino sunglasses which I think are so unique and very glamorous. The camo print is definitely unexpected but I belive that's what makes them even better :)

I'm very excited to tell to you all that I'll be heading to Paris in just a few hours with my best friend for a girly adventure. I could not be happier to go back to Paris as the last time I was there was a VERY long time ago, so there isn't much I remember in detail. If you have any suggestions of places we definitely have to visit leave me a comment!

Hope you're all having a great week so far!

THE BIG CATCH-UP SESSION

Its SO great to be back! I cannot believe it has taken me this long to post again and now that I'm back writing I realise how much I've missed it. What a whirlwind of emotion, stress and happiness the past month and a half have been surrounded by. In one month I have flown between 4 countries, turned 18, studied and taken my final exams, graduated high school and now im ready to sit down and tell you all about it.

Going back to April... yes all the way back to april, I went to Brazil. The trip was mainly for two purposes; my cousin's wedding, but also to visit my family. It was one of the best trips I ever had there. Although I was stressing about studying for finals, it was great to see my family again and get away from my routine. Here are my instagram pictures that illustrate all I was up to while being there.

After spending 2 weeks in Brazil, it was time to come back. On the 30th of April it was my 18th birthday! Being an ultimate fashion fanatic, my birthday would not be complete without a very personal touch which couldn't pass by unshared... here is what my birthday cake looked like:

After my birthday, it was all work and no play for a month. So much studying, little sleep and A LOT of stress, it seemed like it never was going to end... but slowly as each exam passed, summer seemed to be closer and closer which gave us all that extra boost of energy to give it our all. After my last exam I was still stressing... but at the end of the day there is nothing to do anymore, its now time to sit back and wait for the results.

Just after finishing my exams we had our high school graduation and then it was time to prepare for my graduation trip to PUNTA CANA in the Dominican Republic, which I just got back from. I will soon be posting my Punta Cana photo diary so keep updated for that. In the meantime I'll share this one picture from my instagram to make you a little jealous...

That is all for now! I'm officially on summer holidays and with tons of exciting news and posts coming your way! Make sure to keep updated through my Instagram and Facebook page.

End of an Era

I can't believe it even as I'm writing it, but its true... Yesterday was my last day of high school! What??! Where has time gone? I know it sounds cliché but time has truly flown by. It seems like yesterday that I was only 11 years old, coming into this brand new school and feeling so frightened with all this new information to take in.

I've been so fortunate to have studied in the most amazing school, which I can now also call a second home. I have made the best memories, met the most amazing people and learned so much in this environment that it truly saddens me to think that this hugely important period of my life is over. However, that is how life works! We live in constant cycles, the closing of one leads to many new opportunities and that new stage in my life will be university... which I will be going to in September.

I can't thank every single person enough who was involved in making my days so happy and memorable in this outstanding place. Goodbyes are always difficult but I had to finish on a bright note by going around with my best friend, snapping some pictures in some of the most beautiful areas of school.

Today I leave for Brazil and as you can imagine, I could not be more excited!! I'll be going to visit family but also for a study retreat before my finals. I hope that you all enjoy your spring/easter breaks!

Afterglow

Apologies for the late post, my week has been so incredibly busy! Today has been the only day in the week that I spent at home and had some time to edit this new post!

These pictures were taken on a sunny afternoon spent with my best friend, exploring the centre of Lisbon. Sometimes its great to take off a day in our ever-so-busy weeks to just have a break and go places you don't usually visit often. Its a chance to take our minds of all the work and study we have ahead of us and enjoy the beautiful city we live in.

This was my chance to style my new Michael Kors bag I recently purchased, in which I aimed for a very-laid back, light and comfortable look. I've recently also been loving these Hogan shoes (-thanks mum for lending them to me!) For those of you who were not aware, Hogan is an Italian brand which designs shoes, bags and clothing. Their shoes are by far the best-sellers of the company and are very on trend in Italy. When I was there back in December (check out my Rome posts HERE) just about everyone had a pair at their feet. Now I can understand why, they're incredibly comfortable and high quality.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Avenida

Queue the drum rolls because I'm finally back! My practice exams are over and now all I have to do is wait for the dreaded results and continue hard at work for my real ones which happen in may *cries*... As a little celebratory gift I went to Avenida da Liberdade for a casual afternoon with my mother.

Lately I've developed a slight obsession for this light blue leather jacket. When I first bought it I was a little hesitant on whether it was worth the purchase because I couldn't think of too many combinations, as this evidently isn't the most versatile of colors. However, the more I wear it the more I seem to love it. Its definitely unexpected, but I guess that's what makes it fun. Even if the combination isn't 100% matching, sometimes a little bit of a mismatch can bring together innovative ensembles.
Hope you like it and comment below telling me some of your thoughts!

Grey Haze

When will it ever stop raining?! In Lisbon its been raining consistently for about a month now, with only a few breaks of sunny days in between, totally annoying! Anyway moving on to other topics, I want to begin by apologizing for such delayed posts but reality is that I'm reaching the final stage of my senior year which means insane amounts of work, studying and university pressures. I am now in my carnival half term... but that doesn't mean I have a study break at all because right when I get back on the 10th of March I have a two week trial exam period, fun fun fun.
Given that I have a more flexible schedule this week (and hoping that the weather cooperates) I will try my best to shoot outfit posts regularly, so make sure to keep updated through all my social media (FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, BLOGLOVIN).

Hope you all have an amazing carnival weekend!

Pastels for Spring... Revolutionary!

Just a little play on the classic Miranda Priestly quote "Florals for spring... groundbreaking!" (explanation for you fashion lovers who have been living under a rock- Miranda is the main character from the movie 'The Devil Wears Prada'). It is true that pastels have big hitting it BIG this year. During the winter it was mostly seen on coats and now that spring is slowly approaching it is transitioning into more diversified pieces like skirts, shirts and even shoes.
I decided to mainly focus on blue and pink, as these have been the most popular choice by the biggest industry names. I made a selection from my favorite... the one and only ZARA who has been releasing the most AMAZING pieces in their new collection so be sure to check them out.

Weekend Easy

Weekends are the time to relax, study and just enjoy a little more freedom on our busy schedules.
The trick is to look and feel comfortable. Dresses are my go-to comfort clothing piece! They look effortlessly put-together and very feminine. During these winter weekends I also love wearing big felt hats, they make every outfit look so much sweeter and I have to say that they are quite successful at shielding your face and hair from the wind!
Hope you guys are enjoying your weekends to the fullest!

Trench Coat in the Sun

SUNNY BUT COLD! In Lisbon the weather has been absolutely crazy! One minute its sunny, the next its raining, plus there is a cold current that has really recently hit. We can't be deceived by the sun because it is still very cold!
Mondays are always my least favorite day. Getting back to the upbeat work rhythm is never fun... Don't you always wish the weekends would last just a couple more days?! This weekend in particular was very special, filled with amazing accomplishments. I hit over 1000 likes on my facebook page (HERE), saw my Teen Vogue feature (HERE) and to my biggest surprise saw my blog on a small feature on none other than New York Magazine (HERE- I'm on picture nº24). All of this brings me such happiness and pushes me to work harder towards achieving my personal goals. I find it important to always try your best at whatever you do because the rewards will come in time.
Thank you all for the support!

TEEN VOGUE FASHION CLICK

TEEN VOGUE FASHION CLICK! VERY VERY Exciting news! I was selected as a teen vogue Fashion click blogger!!! Arghh I'm so happy about this, as I've been trying to make it happen for a very long time now. What this means is that your looks and blog posts are 'monitored' by the teen vogue offices and other 'fashion click' bloggers/ teen vogue subscribers can vote on your looks. This gives bloggers a chance of being featured on teen vogue website on their daily style section which is amazing for gaining greater global exposure. This is very motivating and shows that hard work pays off! I can't wait to continue expanding this creative space of mine.
On to other fashion related talk; how amazing are these sunglasses by none other than Chanel?! The different colored over-sized bow compliments your whole look, adding a touch of femininity. These are the iconic glasses of this season for the 'Chanel Maison' and I'm very happy I got a chance to style them.

I hope you liked this look, checking in for more looks throughout the week!

Into the Blue

BLUE without a doubt my favorite color when it comes to clothes. If there is ever a choice
between two of the same pieces in different colors, it is highly likely that I'll end up going for the blue option. I find it such a versatile color. Dark blue is a great neutral which makes anyone wearing it elegant, plus its a great alternative to black! Lately I've also been loving pastel blue. I think it goes specifically well for the winter season. When I saw this big coat in this specific color... something clicked, I just couldn't pass it up! This is such a staple piece to a look that my suggestion is to keep everything else quite neutral. Here I opted for all black (with a hint of print in my shoes), however I think that an all white look with this coat over it would look amazing as well!
I hope you like these pictures, they are a few of my favorite in a long time!

Hope you like it and have a great end to your weekend :)

Rome Look 5- Superga for the Blonde Salad

TRASTEVERE. Such a picturesque city just across the river. Here we found amazing restaurants in every corner, gardens and lets not even get into how adorable all the little streets are. There is always lots left to discover in such places.
Having bought these new superga trainers from 'The Blonde Salad' capsule collection, by my all time favorite blogger Chiara Ferragni I had to start wearing them on the day after. They are very comfortable and I'm so glad I found them as I've wanted something from Chiara's collection for a long time now!

Rome Look 4- Lace + Knit

Finally here is the first look at my precious new bag! I adore it and you'll sure be seeing a lot of it in the future as this is a piece that will last a lifetime!  I've always imagined buying a Céline bag in beige but once I spotted this one at the store it was love at first sight. The colors are all very neutral and match just about every piece in my closet, plus I found that a three-colored bag stood out much much that the regular beige or black one.
This whole ensemble is made up from ZARA pieces. Wearing lace-hemmed dresses with big chunky knits on top was (and continues to be) a big trend. I wore a look along the same lines in London (HERE) but I actually prefer this one better as the lace is more visible.
Today was the last day of my holidays. I'm certainly not at all looking forward to going back into school tomorrow, a feeling that all of us can relate to! I wish you all the best of luck in your 2014 starts!

Rome Look 3- Tartan Scarf

Here is my first official post of 2014, wohoo! Looking back at all my pictures from Italy make me really miss Rome and I'm increasingly getting that sad, end-of-holiday feel but I guess that's normal.
This type of scarf has got to be my new favorite! It is very voluminous which is all you can ask for in cold days. When this scarf is unfolded its so big that you can honestly use it as a blanket- just pointing it out there- its great to have with you in a plane.
Hope you all had a great start to the year!
